Advancing Open, Standard, Object-Oriented AI Models

My second advocacy outreach has been sent to the European Union AI Office

I respectfully request that the European Union spearhead a collaboration to define open, standard, object-oriented AI models.

My professional career began in 1983 as a C programmer for AT&T, where I developed network management simulators and protocol gateways using object-oriented principles to implement ISO standards.  I moved to software quality assurance in 1986 and, in 1993, formed SoftQ Systems, providing recruiting, training, and consulting services for large financial companies.   When the dot-com bubble burst after Y2K, I returned to salaried employment as a software QA Project Manager leading enterprise-wide back-office projects at Credit Suisse First Boston and the Bank of NY Mellon.

After retiring in 2018, I became interested in object-oriented AI models. Despite my extensive experience, I struggled to advance these AI models significantly until I discovered the potential of collaborating with ChatGPT last fall. This partnership reignited my passion and provided the breakthroughs to move my vision forward, leading to my founding of the Open Autonomous Intelligence Initiative (OAI²), a nonprofit that advocates for open, standard, object-oriented AI models.

I have developed a base model for autonomous intelligence (AI) systems and am currently working on requirements and use cases for a minimum viable model for Personal Event Recognition.  These systems will operate primarily on local devices and reduce reliance on cloud processing. Advances in edge computing, lightweight models, and efficient processors have made this approach increasingly feasible.

From my AT&T experience, I recognize that these models must be international standards to be optimally effective.  As the EU leads the world with the AI Act, your leadership in a collaborative effort to define AI standards is essential.  I would be honored to meet with you to discuss this proposal further and address any questions or concerns. Please let me know a convenient time for a call or meeting, and I will gladly accommodate your schedule.
